ComNet CNFE2CL2MC is an environmentally hardened modem that supports two Ethernet channels over two twisted copper pairs or two coaxial cables at data rates of up to 91 Mbps. The fastest usable data rate is automatically selected, depending upon the copper circuit transmission distance and cable quality. Utilizing the latest generation VDSL2 technology for the fastest data rate and greatest transmission distance, any standard telephone-grade twisted copper pair, legacy serial cabling, or standard 75 ohm coaxial cable may be used, making this unit ideal for those applications where it is desired to utilize an existing installed base of copper wiring for Ethernet transmission, when compared to the significant costs of installing new network cabling. The CNFE2CL2MC may also be used as an uplink modem, easily enabling the configuration of a drop-and-repeat/point-to-multipoint EoVDSL* communications network by the addition of any 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet managed switch. LED status indicators are provided for rapidly ascertaining the operating status of the modem and the link. Plug-and-play design ensures ease of installation, and no electrical or optical adjustments are ever required. Designed for long-term reliable operation in harsh industrial environments, the CNFE2CL2MC may be deployed in most out-of-plant installations, such as those found in intelligent transportation systems and factory automation/control applications. Packaged in the exclusive ComNet ComFit housing, these units may be either shelf/wall or rack-mounted. Containing two independent EoVDSL modem units within one compact package, the CNFE2CL2MC is perfect for those applications where high rack density is required, or space may be limited. It may also be DIN-rail mounted by the addition of ComNet model DINBKT1 adaptor plate.
